BT's for Burley are missing 1765-9 and 1771. It is possible that the Ann who married George Knight is not the Ann born in 1764 but another one born a little later as suggested by the age at death. It also does seem unlikely that someone born in 1764 was still having children in 1816 so actual parentage of Ann is open to question, although it is almost certain that she was a member of the Glen family living in Burley at the time. BMD ref for death June Q Oakham Vol 7a p147. The certificate states that she died in 1857 aged 87 years and was the widow of James Knight, but this seems likely to be a mistake on the part of the informant who was her daughter in law Mary Anne, wife of George Knight Junior. The gravestone for George and Ann is in Burley churchyard and the inscription confirms the year of death for Ann was 1857 and her age was 87 years. From Valerie Wilson-Hooper GenesReunited |
